Believe it or not, there are plenty of Airbnb's in San Francisco! We recommend these neighborhoods: Mission, Noe Valley, Castro, Hayes Valley, Inner Sunset, and NOPA. These are all very walkable neighborhoods, with good food, access to transportation and centrally-located.
Flight
Fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). By car, both airports are about 35 minutes from San Francisco with light traffic. You can also take BART, public transportation, directly from either airport and that may be faster during rush hour.
Travel Note
San Francisco has the 5th worst traffic in the world. We use MUNI & Lyft to get around. We do not recommend renting a car unless you are comfortable driving in a major city or plan on leaving the city —wine country, anyone? Car break-ins are frequent. Never leave ANYTHING (phone charger, sweater, etc) in your car. It will get stolen, and we will be sad.
