It was Halloween 2013. A Thursday. Unknowingly, Chance and Angela were heading to the same house party on, yes, a school night. Did we have costumes? Of course not, that would be ~lame~, but as soon as Chance walked in the room, having to duck under the stairwell, Angela was mesmerized and the rest is history! After many cringe moments and some persistent texting from Angela, they had their first date at the AMC Theater at Riverfront Park to see Ender’s Game. That night, Chance dropped Angela off in the middle of the street. However, she was not dissuaded and they continued to go on dates. They officially got together on January 24, 2014 (something special in the air that day for long-term relationships). Over the next couple years, they continued to see movies and eat copious amounts of Red Robin before moving to Seattle to attend University of Washington. Since then, they have been together tackling life’s adventures side by side. From high school to college graduations (and hopefully a PhD defense soon!), moving across the state to across the country, spontaneously adopting a bearded dragon and settling into a new place where they knew no one, they have had each other (and Comet and Iris). Growing up with someone is a unique and special experience, allowing you to be there for the wins and losses, big and small, as you watch them grow into themselves. They are eternally grateful for the beautiful life that they have built and for all of the people who have helped and supported them along the way. Here’s to the next adventure and a lifetime of growing together!
