FAQs

Question

What is a camp wedding? What should we expect?

Answer

Get ready for a wedding weekend at summer camp! We’re excited to share this special experience with you. Instead of a traditional one-night event, expect a weekend filled with fun outdoor activities like lake time, sports, bonfires, delicious food, music, a welcome party, and of course, our wedding celebration! Can't wait to celebrate together!

Question

How do I get to camp?

Answer

If you are planning on driving, Camp Kieve has plenty of room for parking all weekend. If you are flying: The closest airport to fly into is Portland International Airport in Portland, Maine ● Approximately 1 hour from our wedding venue Another major airport to fly into is Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts ● Approximately 3 hours from our wedding venue A smaller jetport that is an option is Bangor Airport in Bangor Maine ● Approximately 2 hours from our wedding venue ● Approximately 1 hour away from Acadia National Park If you are flying, we recommend renting a car, as there is little to no ride share access in Damariscotta

Question

What should I pack for the weekend?

Answer

We recommend packing comfortable clothes for daytime camp activities, a swimsuit, sneakers, layers for cool Maine evenings and late night bonfires, and your welcome party and wedding outfit for Saturday night. Cabin guests may also want a flashlight, toiletries, earplugs, and an eye mask!

Question

Can I come for just part of the weekend?

Answer

Absolutely! While we’d love for everyone to experience the full camp weekend, we completely understand that schedules and travel can make that tricky. Guests are more than welcome to join for whichever part of the weekend works best for them, whether that’s the full weekend, just the wedding day, or anything in between.

Question

What’s the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We’d love for guests to dress comfortably while still feeling wedding-ready, think sundresses, linen, florals, dress pants, button-downs, and relaxed summer formalwear. I've attached a Pinterest board for inspiration if you're feeling unsure! https://pin.it/3E7USzRUO Please keep in mind that camp is outdoors with grass, gravel, docks, and uneven terrain, so we recommend choosing shoes accordingly!

Question

What activities are available? Do I have to participate?

Answer

There will be plenty of optional camp activities throughout the weekend, including lake time (canoeing, swimming, SUP), tennis/pickleball, basketball, lawn games, bonfires, relaxing around camp, and more. Participation is completely up to you! Whether you want to fully lean into the summer camp experience or simply relax and enjoy the wedding festivities, we just want everyone to have a great weekend.
