It all started when I was bar hopping with some friends. When one friend of the friends I was with, Sidney, ran into Angela and started chatting. With drinks of liquid courage, I decided to walk over and introduce myself. I could not tell you a word of the conversation because I was so nervous, and had a lot of liquid courage. Before I could ask for her phone number she left in an Uber with her friends. Just when I thought I would never talk to her again, she texted Sidney and told her how cute I was. A double date to GRC started what would be the start of the rest of our lives together. I bowled the game of my life, a 206, showed my competitive side by showing no mercy. Angela knew I was a winner, and knew she won with me. The night ended with going to a dive bar, eating a frozen pizza, and listening to karaoke. So I now I bet you are wondering, “Brandon what made you want to be with Angela? Was it her beautiful smile? Her amazing personality? Her maturity?” Nope it was the fact she had her own place, so I did not have to live with mom anymore. And she had the best dog who became a mans best friend, Ellie Jo. All jokes aside it was the connection. I could be my goofball self without judgement. After numerous dates, dating through covid, a basement remodel, living together, and getting an adorable, goofy, loving black lab puppy, Stella Mae. The past year and a half has been a hell of a roller coaster ride, but a roller coaster ride I never want to get off. Someone who started out as a friend, became a girlfriend. Over a year later, a question was asked and a girlfriend became a fiancé. Now just days away from becoming a wife. Just a dream and a blessing away from one day becoming a mother. It’s safe to say I can not wait for the rest our lives.
The first night Brandon & I met was a true coincidence. I was out for a girl’s night and bumped into my friend Sidney, who had been like a younger sister growing up. Sidney & I caught up on life before Brandon introduced himself. We chatted for a while and I bluntly informed him that I do not date cops, he laughed. Never have I been so wrong! I went home that night thinking about how cute he was and how I weirdly felt this connection. Two weeks went by, and Sidney asked if I wanted to go bowling. She said it was a casual hangout with Brandon and Ryan. My naïve self believed her but deep down I hoped he was interested in seeing me again. Turns out he was the one trying to get us all together! We had so much fun bowling. Brandon played the “game of his life”. He cracked jokes all night, I was always laughing. Things felt so natural between us, almost like home? He put his arm around me, and I was smitten. We went on a few more dates, talked about life and met each other’s families. Brandon thinks he won me over with his sense of humor, but really it was his heart. He was this sweet guy who always talked about his nieces and nephews, would bring Ellie new dog toys, and backed the car up perfectly to avoid me stepping in the snow. He showed how much he cared through his actions and made me feel special. When we first started dating, we said we wanted to take things slow. We may not have followed through on that, but we are loving our life together. When you know, you know. I am one of the lucky ones who met the love of my life when I least expected to and I can’t wait to see all that is ahead.
