It’s a North Indian tradition to have a Baraat-which is the groom’s procession to the venue with lots of music and dancing. It’s lively and celebratory. In folklore it signifies the groom and his family and friends arriving at the bride’s doorstep. Once the Baraat reaches the wedding venue- elders from both families will greet each other and we will proceed with the ceremony. In modern times many of the brides family and guests also join in the baraat, and we’ve chosen to include all our guests in this festive procession.

We recommend ordering your clothes well ahead of time since many ship from India. Popular websites include: www.utsavfashion.com www.cbazaar.com https://www.lashkaraa.com/ https://www.kalkifashion.com/ https://www.perniaspopupshop.com/ https://www.houseofindya.com/ (this is like the forever21 of indian clothes - it’s hit or miss but really affordable!) https://m.mirraw.com/women/clothing/indian-dresses/amp Our favorite shop: @almastejani in Sugarland, TX has offered to do virtual shopping for any guest, you can call or message them on instagram. Etsy.com is also a great option, but read the reviews carefully. Some places it might be faster to just have a whatsapp chat with them if they want anything custom sized. Accessories including jewelry and purses may be also found on these websites. If any help is needed in ordering/navigating, you may reach out to the bride, Neena, or Natasha.
