What should I expect for the evening?

Answer

While we are holding a private ceremony for immediate family earlier in the day, we can't wait to include all of you in our celebration afterwards. Please join us at Piccione Vineyards for cocktail hour and appetizers, followed by a full dinner. We’ll be including all our favorite wedding traditions throughout the night, so get ready for toasts, cake, and dancing. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with our favorite people!

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress Code: Summer Garden Attire We’re going for a look that is "dressed up" but summer-friendly! For Women: A sundress (any length), a chic jumpsuit, or slacks and a blouse are all great. For Men: Chinos, khakis, or dress slacks with a button-down shirt are great options. A tie or a light blazer is optional— a full suit is not required.

What are the weather plans?

Answer

Hopefully it will be sunny so we can take full advantage of the patio at Piccione. Keep in mind that June in North Carolina can mean heat, humidity, and sun! Consider bringing sunglasses, wearing sunscreen, etc. so you can enjoy the whole event to the max. Our venue also has shaded areas and plenty of indoor air-conditioned space in addition to the outdoor patio, so we won't let you melt! In the event of rain, we will move indoors where there is plenty of space, and we can still enjoy vineyard views.

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We are providing a shuttle bus leaving from the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Elkin at 4:00 pm. Return trips to the hotel will run at approximately 7:45, 8:45, and 10:00 (when the party ends). See the Travel page for more information.

Do I need to bring my ID to the wedding?

Answer

Since our venue is a working vineyard, they may ask to see ID to stay in compliance with their liquor license. If you would like to be served alcohol, we recommend making sure you have your ID with you.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We hope to spend additional time with our friends and family at a picnic on Saturday at the Elkin Municipal Park. This is casual time for us to connect outside of the large party. We will be providing some sandwiches, light snacks, and soft drinks. Drop in and out as works for you and your family!

How do I get to Elkin?

Answer

Elkin is about 1 hour north of Charlotte, up I-77. If you are flying in, the best airports are Charlotte (CLT), Greensboro (GSO), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), or Asheville (AVL). Please note that ride shares (Uber/Lyft) are not a good option to get to Elkin from the airport, so we recommend renting a car so you can get around easier all weekend.
