In the Fall of 2013, two Baltimore kids would meet inside the Willard Building on Penn State's campus. An informational meeting for the student radio station would be the first of many ComRadio meetings Maddie and Andy would attend together. Their first interaction is a bit blurry to Andy, but Maddie remembers his Ravens hat and a brief conversation about where they were from. A few months later, after the failure of the "Mark and Maddie Show," Maddie needed a new co-host and really just someone to run the board. Enter Andy and the start of "Charm City Chirps." Over the next two years, Maddie and Andy's friendship grew through countless shows about the Orioles and Ravens, dinners at The Mix and hang outs at IP. Despite much speculation from friends and family, it wasn't until the Fall of 2015 that Maddie and Andy decided they were more than just friends. The co-general mangers tried to keep it quiet in the beginning, but eventually their secret was out!
After three and a half years of long distance...like 3,000 miles long...Maddie and Andy were finally in the same place. At the start of the pandemic, Andy joined Maddie in Connecticut to quarantine for what they thought would only be a few weeks. A "few weeks" turned into a year, a new job and a move back to Maryland. On June 12th, Maddie and Andy spent the first part of the day looking for a place to live outside of D.C. In Maddie's mind, the rest of the day would be spent at a graduation party for her brother Parker. What Maddie didn't know was that Andy and their families had been planning the proposal for months. Andy popped the question at Maddie's house in front of their closest friends and family. She said yes holding a bag of groceries, but the rest of the night was the perfect celebration!
