It all started on Thursday night, January 17, 2013. Fraternity rush has now ended and their pledge classes had just begun, sorority rush was to begin the following weekend. The students of Syracuse University had recently returned from Winter Break. Lucy and Ali came back to school yearning to go out to a bar called 'DJ's' for their first time. Ali had become one of Lucy's closest friends at the beginning of the school year, they both belonged to Day Hall and lived on the same floor. Considering they would begin sorority rush next week followed by strict pledging, they knew this was the last weekend they could go out for the next two months. They wanted to make it count! Andy was planning to stay in his dorm in Shaw Hall this night, but while in passing of his dorm hall friend (Chris) Boss, Boss successfully urged Andy to go out to DJ's with him and Boss' new fraternity brothers. Earlier that week, Boss and a few of his pledge brothers had hung out on Lucy and Ali's floor because they, along with several of the men on their dorm floor, all pledged to the same fraternity. By default, Lucy and Ali had already met Boss and several of his new pledge brothers. On this Thursday night, Boss, his fraternity brothers and Andy all went to DJ's, and an hour or so later walk in Lucy and Ali. They all greet their dorm floor friends, Boss, and the fraternity brothers they recently became familiar with. There's one face they don't recognize and Lucy let's Ali know that she finds this unknown man to be very attractive. Lucy says that she is going to introduce herself and see if he would like to dance with her. Andy notices Lucy and sees that she has 'googly eyes' for him, as he likes to say. Lucy walked up to Andy and introduced herself. Andy shared his name, and a short while later, Lucy asked him to dance and he accepted her offer... Andy and Lucy have been dancing through life together ever since!

On March 27, 2022, Lucy and Andy were headed up on Peak 8 in Breckenridge, CO. Andy knew Lucy loves taking pictures at the top of ski mountains, and he had done his research in advance of this peak and it's breathtaking view. He suggests to Lucy mid-day that they go and check out Peak 8. Shortly after, Lucy and Andy are being chair lifted up, and sure enough, Lucy asks for a photo at the top! They get out, look at the view, and asked a lady there to take their photo. With one leg in their snowboards, Lucy tried to direct Andy to move beside her so his snowboard could be parallel to hers. Andy stays put and begins quickly fumbling around with his pocket. Confused at first, Lucy repeats herself for Andy to step and be beside her for the photo. Suddenly, Andy gets down on one knee, pulls open a small black box with a light shinning on a beautiful ring inside, and he asks her to marry him. The lady taking the pictures screams with excitement in the background, and Lucy then says "YES!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in May!
