We had our first date here back on December 18, 2023!
Mead Botanical Garden
Gorgeous spot to spend some time outdoors. Andy and I love having picnics and reading for our book club here. We did our engagement photos here as well!
Beaches or Springs
Cocoa Beach or New Smyrna are great beach options. Wekiwa Springs and Kelly Park/Rock Springs are beautiful nearby! DeLeon Springs has the Old Sugar Mill where you can cook pancakes at your table. Blue Springs has manatees when it's chilly out. The water in all the Springs is 72 degrees year round.
Kraft Azalea Garden
We like this spot because of all the hanging moss trees. Grab take-out at one of the nearby spots in Winter Park (we love Brick & Bowl) and bring it to this park, it's perfect for a picnic!
Museum of Illusions
Free parking at the garage nearby on certain levels. There are plenty of places to eat and do other things nearby as well, including our other recommendation Sea Life Aquarium.
SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium
One of the best aquariums we've been to!
Orlando Putting Edge
Glow in the dark mini golf! There's also a movie theater, arcade, and other activities in the same spot.
Seasons 52
They have a rotating seasonal menu so always something new to try here! We went for one of our dates leading up to the wedding.
SAK Comedy Club
Fun spot for a good laugh. We did one of our monthly dates leading up to the wedding here. What they offer will differ so please see their website for events.
Kobe Japanese Steakhouse
Andy and I both love this place! They cook right in front of you and it's always delicious. We recommend making a reservation.
Apopka Wildlife Drive
Only open Friday-Sunday from 7am-3pm. You drive your car through to view all the wildlife. There are a few spots to park or pull over to walk around. There are usually a ton of birds and gators. Typically takes about 2 hours to get through so plan to take your time and enjoy!
St. Augustine Lighthouse
We are two people who enjoy learning and history so we recommend all of St. Augustine really! The lighthouse and maritime museum is a top spot to check out. Do a ghost tour if you can!!
The Melting Pot
Lakin's favorite restaurant! We always go with the four-course meal but you can stop in for just cheese or chocolate fondue. Multiple locations but we like the Longwood one linked here. Reservations highly recommended.
Brevard County Zoo
One of the best zoos we have been to! The walk around is comfortable and we always see a ton of animals. The monkeys and feeding the giraffes have been our favorites. Worth the drive over towards the beach.
Puppy Yoga!
Locations may differ. See the website. They announce on each Tuesday prior what breed will be present that weekend.
Orlando Wetlands
We love nature and this space offers a great, relaxing walking loop. Birding and wildlife viewing is great here.
Painting with a Twist
Multiple locations around the area offering different guided paintings. We also enjoy pottery painting at the nearby Pottery U Paint in Longwood if that is more your style.
Epcot at Disney World
Epcot is our favorite Disney park because you can eat/drink around the world! If you can watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, we recommend park hopping over there for them!
