Maid of Honor
Maria and Jill have known each other since they were 4 and 5 years old (respectively). They met while goofing off at ice-skating lessons and quickly became best friends. They were guardians of their block ("Block Heads"), and are still proud bird-towners (Robbinsadalians? Robbinsdalites?). Although Maria lives in Washington DC now, hi jinx ensue whenever she's back in town.
Bridesmaid
Although Kelly has been Jill's sister-in-law since 2006, she has been a thoughtful, caring friend since Jill met her (via her brother, Adam) five years before then. Kelly is always there to help Andy and Jill through anything- whether it be picking out Jill's engagement ring, helping them both come up with ways to propose to each other (she was a double agent!), or to just hang out for some much-needed girl time.
Bridesmaid
Kate and Jill met during grad school at the University of Minnesota. They quickly bonded over study sessions and the much needed dance parties that followed. Kate has been Jill's partner-in-crime for many adventures, including: making our own Kahlua (I wouldn't recommend it), biking around Minneapolis, and navigating the crowded streets and daring drivers of India.
Bridesmaid
Sue is Andy's sister and Jill's future sister-in-law. Sue was always the one trying to keep Andy out of trouble. Now that impossible job falls to Jill. She is a master at making egg rolls, a master potter, and a fellow do-it-yourself-er (HGTV and DIY network junkie, just like Jill).
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Jill met when they were randomly assigned to be roommates while studying abroad in Toledo, Spain. Since then, Sarah has been Jill's go-to travel partner, from road tripping through the Midwest to navigating Iceland. She is an adventurous, dynamic person who is always encouraging Jill to pursue new experiences.
Bridesmaid
Ananta and Jill met in Spain, became roommates in Robbinsdale, and great friends in Minneapolis. Camping, turtle racing, kayaking, and making Khalua with Kate are some of their past-times. Whenever they are together, they get as silly as this picture suggests.
Bridesmaid
Jenny and Jill lived together at the University of Minnesota. Thanks to Jenny, Jill ate well-rounded meals and learned how to cook! Andy is eternally grateful. Whether they are playing cribbage, making pasta, or driving to Wisconsin to visit Jenny's family, laughter always ensues when Jenny and Jill are together.
Bridesmaid
Karen and Jill met when they were living in Santander, Spain. They have since travelled to several European countries together and have had many amusing cultural misunderstandings. Karen and Jill find humor in the smallest things, bake humongous ice cream cakes, and manage to paddle in circles when kayaking.
Best Man
What can I say about this guy? He's my little brother, and I love him to death. When I started thinking about getting married years ago, there wasn't a doubt in my mind about who I wanted to be as my best man. He's a great brother, and an even more amazing human being.
Groomsman
I met Guy when I was about 14. He owned the comic book store in Columbia Heights, where I would hang out almost every day. Man. I was so cool back then.
Groomsman
I met John right after High School. I was also in his wedding. So, y'know...this is revenge.
Groomsman
Adam is Jill's brother. My sister is a bridesmaid for Jill, so it was only fair. Plus, he's one of my best friends...wait. He's one of my bestest friends? How do you say that?
Groomsman
This is my cousin Nam. He's getting married in September.
Groomsman
This is my cousin Danny. He's also engaged.
Groomsman
He likes to be called Smiley. You can see why by the photo I chose for him (he didn't respond to my request for a photo).
Groomsman
I went to High School with this guy. I didn't really know him back then, though. It wasn't until we realized that we both work at the U that we started hanging out. We like to sing karaoke and play trivia.
Officiant
Kate and Jill met in high school, making Kate one of Jill's oldest friends! They even have a secret greeting (neither of them have any idea how it began). Kate and Jill have braved the slopes of Lutsen, helped Kate settle into many new places, and even went lactose free for a weekend. Kate always knows how to make Jill laugh and is an incredible confidante, despite living half a country away.
