We met when Andy was the Program Coordinator for the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program, where Jill was applying. She was admitted. For a record breaking three times. (She deferred twice to live in Spain). After finally attending the program and helping Andy recruit students, Andy and Jill hung out for the first time at Eli's downtown. That first hang out surprisingly lasted four hours (unbeknownst to Jill, who had an 8 o'clock class the next day). The rest is history.
Andy and Jill got a new desk calendar! (Exciting, I know.) Andy had been secretly training Jill to use the calendar to document all events before she left for Iceland. Jill came back from Iceland a little groggy, but determined to stay awake until night fall. Once she made it in the apartment, Andy asked her to check the calendar to see what we had going on that day. Jill looked, saw nothing out of the ordinary, and replied, "Nothing new- we have Kristen's birthday party at 12." Andy asked her to look again. Between Kristen's birthday party reminder and a note about Jill coming home from Iceland, Andy had written, "Andy proposes to Jill." He got down on one knee, and we were engaged. We never made it to Kristen's party. Sorry, Kristen.
