The Denver Airport is about a 2 hour drive from Vail and the Vail / Eagle Airport is about 30 minutes. From either airport we recommend the booking a shuttle through Epic Mountain Express or Peak 1 Express or renting a car. Each service has a shuttle leaving every hour throughout the day. If booking through Epic Mountain Express please use code SVLDKW24 for 20% off. Once you are in Vail Village you shouldn't need a rental car as everything is walking distance (see section below).
Vail is very walkable in the summer! It's only about a 10-15 minute walk between Lionshead and Vail Village. There is also a free town shuttle that operates from 6:30 AM to 1:30 AM every day and has multiple stops in both Vail Village and Lionshead so it can get you wherever you would like to go!
The elevation in Vail Village is about 8,120 feet, much higher than most of our friends and family are used to. Below are some tips to consider while out in Vail: 1. Drinks LOTS of water! The higher you go, the more water you should drink 2. Give your body a day to acclimate before any strenuous activity 3. Limit alcohol intake - it will hit you harder than you expect! 4. Get portable oxygen - if you're feeling lightheaded, or nauseous, the canisters are available at every store in Vail Village 5. Wear sunscreen and bring lots of layers! The sun is much stronger at high altitude so make sure you apply sunscreen and reapply throughout the day 6. Get plenty of rest to enjoy the wedding festivities and all the amazing things Vail has to offer!
