It Started With a Salsa

April 24, 2016

Though Dave Anderson firmly believed that Margaret could only find nice guys "at church or at Crossfit", she begged to differ. On a balmy night in late April, Margaret and Oscar locked eyes from across the dance floor at El Centro in Georgetown. Maybe it was the soft, sultry voice of Enrique Iglesias, or the cute, pink romper Margaret was wearing, but something implored Oscar - he asked her dance. He was so impressed by her dance moves (as he should be, Margaret is always in the front row at Zumba), he had to follow-up with a dinner date at Bodega the following Tuesday.

He Triumphed With Tapas

February 17, 2018

As she is never one to let a thought go unspoken, Margaret told Oscar she would like to be proposed to at the restaurant where they had their first date - Bodega in Georgetown. Oscar asked Margaret to "look cute", because he had something special planned; he had been acting a little suspicious that cold and rainy February day, but Margaret attributed his actions to some sort of birthday surprise, as her *ahem* 27th was the following week. After an afternoon cocktail, Oscar and Margaret made their way to Bodega for dinner at the ripe hour of 4:47 PM. Once there, they were seated in a private room and treated with the attention and respect usually reserved for Instagram models. 15 minutes into their meal, a bouquet of flowers and a card arrived. When Margaret opened the card, she scrolled right down to the bottom, where Oscar had written "Will you marry me?" with two checkbox choices... "Yes!" or "Of Course!!". When she looked up, Oscar was down on one knee and Margaret was blinded by a diamond ring. Before she even had the opportunity to say yes (which she did, of course!), Margaret heard someone outside the room say, "Did she say yes?!", and both of their families paraded in - sisters were supposed to be in Colorado, cousins were supposed to be at college, Grandma was supposed to be in bed, but Oscar had successfully planned and facilitated the sweetest surprise with the sweetest guests for Margaret. They then enjoyed a tapas-style dinner as one, big family, sponsored by bottomless sangria. After they could eat no más, the group went back for a little engagement party. As if the party decor was not already cute enough, Margaret was then surprised once more by the cutest puppy in the entire world! Oscar and Margaret could not have been happier! They spent the evening snuggling their little pup, getting iced by [former] friends, and dancing the night away at El Centro, where it all began.
