Just a few blocks away from the wedding venue, this cozy restaurant has incredible homemade biscuits, brunch foods, coffees, hot chocolate, and more! The lofted second floor of the restaurant makes for a really fun atmosphere as well! We ate here the first time that we came to visit the venue, and we absolutely loved the food and the experience here!!
Silver Dipper is a super special spot for us!! It's where we had our first date, and where we have shared a lot of ice cream and even more laughter ever since! Perfect for a late-night cone or a post-lunch sweet treat, Silver Dipper is a Chocolate Shoppe-style ice cream parlor open every day from 1 pm - 11 pm.
Incredible vibes and even better food! 8Eleven Modern Bistro is one of the top restaurants in Lafayette and is conveniently located on Lafayette's historic town square. They cook with fresh, seasonal, and locally-grown ingredients. The restaurant is very atmospheric and immersive, and they have a pretty good range of different dishes!
We've walked the towpath along the historic shipping canal at this park in Delphi. There are more than 10 miles of trail connecting to the park, as well as a small museum and an 1850's Pioneer Village! Weather-permitting, we really recommend visiting this park and its trails to enjoy the beautiful scenery and serene canal!
Horticulture Park is somewhat of an underrated gem in West Lafayette which has a paved trail parallel to an ephemeral stream. The real fun begins if you take one of the side paths northbound into the woodland portion of the park and hike up and down some of the rolling topography under the tree canopy! In late November, this could be a beautiful walk if it's not too cold! If you're feeling adventurous, try hunting down the life-size wooden cross and prayer station in the woodland (Andrew's favorite secret spot!)
Another fantastic park for the outdoorsy guy or gal, Happy Hollow Park is a well-loved park by Purdue students and West Lafayette residents. It has a paved. wooded trail with a bit of topography, a ton of really gorgeous mature trees, and a sizeable playground for kiddos! We used to set up hammocks here and read/picnic in the park when we were students at Purdue :)
