We officially met during undergrad at Grand Valley at a friend's party in 2012, we spent a semester or two studying and hanging out together and after a "non-date" and summers spent on opposite sides of the state, didn't see each other for a while. Luckily after a Super Senior year for me and a few semesters of Law school for him, Andrew contacted me again, and we started seeing each other. Michelle and Andrew 2.0 was born, and this time, it stuck! Over the years we have traveled, biked, and grown together. We've supported each other through staying organized with Google Calendar events, applying to Grad School, applying to Ultrasound School and working in addition to taking classes! I'll never forget Andrew's Friday night visits/study sessions brightening my shifts as a barista, or my ride around Ann Arbor on a snowy evening on the Blue Bus Andrew was driving that night. In May of 2019, we began our biggest journey together, new jobs and a new adventure living in the Northern Virginia/DC area. We happily settled into our new jobs, and have been trying to soak up all the history, nature, and tourist attractions in our new home!
On a chilly evening this past December, Andrew asked if I wanted to go on a bike ride into DC to look at the Monuments at night, my favorite way to view them. We worked our way from the Jefferson Memorial, through the WWII Memorial, over to the Lincoln Memorial. Andrew got down on one knee on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and asked me to marry him! I happily said yes, and tried not to alarm the tourists nearby with my crying! We are so happy to continue our journey together, and we can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you!
