Our first exchange was a late-night gem: “Do you know where I can buy deodorant?” It was 11 pm in a Philadelphia hotel lobby, and Andrew’s natural deodorant had let him down just hours before we were set to depart for the Peace Corps. Neither of us was supposed to be there that night, but, as fate would have it, we were both rerouted from our original postings to Georgia. From that moment, we connected through late-night calls, slack-line dates, and sneaky coffee break kisses (which, let’s be honest, weren’t that sneaky!). Since then we’ve adventured around the world together, and now we can’t wait to share our greatest adventure yet with all of you.

Georgia's mountains hold a special place in our hearts. We were mesmerized by the stunning Caucasus peaks on our first ever camping trip together, and it was always our dream to return and climb one. In July 2024, we took advantage of a holiday weekend, packed our gear, and set out to climb Mount Laila. Carina was focused on making it to the top of her first glaciated peak, while Andrew was determined to not lose the ring tucked in his pocket. After a 7-hour climb to the summit, Andrew got down on one knee and asked Carina to marry him. With nearly the same view as our first camping trip, the moment was perfect... of course she said yes! Here's to climbing many more of life's mountains together!
