We don’t remember the exact day we met. There was no big moment, no spotlight—just a quiet beginning somewhere in the middle of sophomore year of high school. But we do remember how it felt. Easy. Familiar. Like we’d known each other longer than we had. From the start, we were friends—the kind who made each other laugh in crowded hallways, who felt safe in the silence, who didn’t need to try too hard. Life carried us through school, cities, seasons… and still, we stayed in each other’s orbit. Six years later, something shifted. The friendship that had always felt like home became something deeper. And suddenly, the person who had quietly been there all along was the one we couldn’t imagine life without.
It was a quiet Wednesday at home—ordinary in every way, until he handed me a card that said, “Today isn’t just another day.” Inside was a clue, the first of many, and so began a scavenger hunt through all the places that have shaped our story. Tucked beside every clue was a Jellycat stuffed animal, like soft little signposts pointing me toward the places that made us us. I retraced our laughter, our late-night talks, our quiet moments—all woven into the corners of our small town. The final clue led me to my favorite childhood park, a place we’d visited countless times. But this time, it was different. There, beneath an arbor adorned with florals and photos of us together, he was waiting. He got down on one knee. I didn’t need a clue for that part. I said yes. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you at the chapel!
