Question

Are there special rules I need to know about the venue?

Answer

The reception is on a military base, which is subject to federal law. Marijuana or other federally prohibited substances are not allowed at the venue. Per our contract with the venue, we must provide full names of the guests several weeks prior in order for our guests to have access to the base on our wedding day. All adult guests must give their names to the guard at the gate as well as a "VALID FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED DRIVER'S LICENSE OR PHOTO IDENTIFICATION" (passports are acceptable for international guests) for entry.

When must I RSVP by?

Answer

We will begin officially accepting RSVPs through this website in mid-March. If you already know that you will not be able to attend, you are welcome to email us at klinkwedding2026@gmail.com RSVPS will be due by April 20th.

What attire should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Coastal formal: Blend the polish of traditional formalwear with the practicality (and breeze) of a coastal setting. While it’s not as strict as black tie, it’s a step up from cocktail attire. For women, ideal coastal formal includes floor length or tea length dresses, or a dressy jumper. Don't shy away from light colors or fun patterns. Breathable fabrics like chiffon, linen, or silk are encouraged. For men, suits are encourages. Light colors and breathable fabrics are completely acceptable. Are children invited?

Answer

The children of our guests are invited. We will have coloring books for the children at the ceremony. We ask all parents to keep an eye on their children throughout the ceremony and reception to ensure their safety. The reception will have outdoor access on the water and fire pits. If you would prefer a childfree evening and would like recommendations for local childcare, contact Shannon.

May I bring a guest?

Answer

Plus ones will be specified on address of the save the dates and invitations. For those given a plus one, we will need their first and last name by RSVP to give them access on base. If you you are unsure if your invitation includes a guest, please ask Shannon or Andrew.

Is there an after-party following the wedding reception?

Answer

Yes. At the end of the reception, one of the buses will transport guests who wish to continue the party to a bar in Newport (exact location tbd).

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony venue?

Is the wedding venue outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors on the lawn outside of the Officer's Club, weather permitting. The cocktail our will be outside on a deck with chairs. The reception will be inside.

Answer

We are so grateful to be able to share our wedding celebration with our friends and family, and your presence is truly the most meaningful gift we could ask for. If you feel inclined to give us a wedding gift, please see the registry tab of this website.

Where should I park for the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

We recommend using Uber/Lyft or to walk if you're staying nearby the Amazing Grace Harbor Tours Departure Point. The departure point is a short walk from the Harborside Inn (0.2 mi) and the Admiral Fitzroy Inn (0.3 mi). On-site parking is very limited. There is small paid parking lot onsite for a fee of approximately $10-15. There is limited free street parking on some streets a bit further away (ex. Wellington Ave).

What is the weather like in Newport?

Answer

The average weather in Newport during June is mild and pleasant, with daytime highs around 69°F to 77°F and nighttime lows near 55°F to 62°F. We recommend checking the forecast closer to the date and packing a light jacket or wrap for the evening.
