On 5-11-14, I entered a relationship with my best friend, but due to storms and my work schedule, we didn't go on our first date until June 19th, where we saw How To Train Your Dragon 2. He's known of my love for dragons, fantasy and magical worlds for as long as we've known each other. Now here we are, six years later, and I can't believe this is all happening still. Every time I think back to that night, I cry tears of joy all over again. In just a few short months, I'll be walking down the aisle, and every day I get even more excited. Andy Maas, I love you so much!
Six years ago, I received a message that changed my life forever. A friend I'd formed a very strong bond with told me how they felt. They told me that they'd had a crush on me for a while up to that point, but was afraid to say anything out of fear of rejection. Six years later and I'm now engaged to that friend and we're set to be married later this year. The journey we've shared for the last six years has been amazing. We met on Facebook back in February of 2014 in a group dedicated to fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. (Why, yes. We ARE massive nerds.) I just want to say that love can be found in the strangest places at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you Maisie Denton! I look forward to seeing you walk down the aisle in what I'm sure is a beautiful dress!
Andy surprised me with tickets to the Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary. Although it was cold, the night was incredible. The lanterns and the performances, it was all just so magical. But the main thing I can't forget, is the Phoenix. The dragon was merely a head, but the phoenix was huge and colorful. I was amazed and Andy could tell. Before we left that night, we walked back to that spot, where the man I had grown to love so much as my other half, proposed to me.
