Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Andrew Yount and Madeline Landes
Here are a few of our favorite spots around the city, feel free to reach out with tourist questions or for restaurant recs!

Eastern Market

225 7th Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

This is a farmers' market close to the church in the Capitol Hill Neighborhood. It runs every Saturday and Sunday until 4:00pm and is a frequent stop for our friend group for snacks, coffee, gifts, or thrifting.

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10th St. & Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560

Andrew's favorite Smithsonian, it is also the one that many associate in their minds with DC, yes, it has dinosaur bones. Like most Smithsonians, it is free and open from 10:00am-5:30pm.

National Gallery of Art

Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20565

Open from 10:00am-5:00pm, we love this place and have spent hours here! Our favorite series is Thomas Cole's "The Voyage of Life".

Smithsonian National Museum of American History

1300 Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560

This is Madeline's favorite Smithsonian. It is open from 10:00am-5:30pm and is sure to make you feel more patriotic so be warned.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

600 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20560

This one is another iconic museum, it is open from 10:00am-5:30pm but you do need timed entry tickets to enter. They are free and easy to get but need a little preparation. It is worth it, though!

Museum of the Bible

400 4th Street Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

This is not a Smithsonian, so it does cost money but it is a great experience!

United States Capitol

Washington, DC 20004

If you want a Capitol tour while in DC, it is easy to just do a walk up tour, enter through the visitor center and go to the walk up line, they leave every 15 minutes or so. Last tour of the day begins at 3:20pm.

Georgetown

Washington, DC 20007

We spends lots of evenings and Saturdays here. This little neighborhood in between the Georgetown campus and the Kennedy Center sits right on the water and is filled with fun restaurants and stores. It is a popular spot for locals so it can get crowded quickly but we love it!

Washington Monument

2 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20024

Where Andrew asked the big question, it probably has some other significance too.

Ebenezers Coffeehouse

201 F Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

Our first date spot :)

Peregrine Espresso

660 Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

One of the better coffee spots on the Hill, try the espresso tonic if you're feeling adventurous!

Union Station

Washington, DC 20002

Metro stop, train station, food court, impressive architecture, but most importantly, home to our favorite coffee shop, Blue Bottle (Get the NOLA, you'll thank us later)

For all the days along the way
