Their love story began the way many millennial love stories do…on the internet. They met on Christian Mingle in February of 2020. Lauren had just signed up for Christian Mingle when she was matched with a cute boy wearing a tuxedo t-shirt. To her, he looked like a sweet guy with a good sense of humor! It helped that Christian Mingle labeled him as a 98% match for her! So she sent him a like, and then a smiley face. A few days later, she got a like, a smiley face and a message from Andrew! They chatted for a week online when finally Andrew got up the courage to ask her out. They decided to meet up in Towson for tea at the Den-Da Coffee shop. They talked for three hours! When the shop closed, Andrew asked her if she had anywhere she needed to be and if she would like to go to the bar next door. She agreed and they drank Blue Moons and listened to a really terrible one man band! After many shouts for “Freebird” from Andrew, they walked over to a restaurant called Bread and Circuses. They drank water and tried not to watch an older couple making out at the bar next to them. They had a good laugh about it as well as some good conversation. At the end of the night, Andrew went in for a handshake but Lauren insisted on a hug. He had taken her on three dates in one after all! Little did they know that this first date was the beginning of true love and a global pandemic.
Two years later, Andrew asked Lauren's parents for their permission to marry their daughter. After some light grilling, they acquiesced. They asked what Andrew’s proposal plans were. He had some ideas, but nothing super concrete. Lauren’s grandmother suggested a few places riverside at Fairview Beach, Virginia. A plan was in motion! That May, Andrew and Lauren joined her family at their cousin's home in Fairview Beach. That morning, after a quick refresher on the finer points of golf cart operation from Uncle Tim, a spot off of the famous 2nd Street was chosen. That afternoon, Andrew asked Rachel, Lauren’s sister, if she would take pictures of the glorious event. She agreed, with absolutely no tears shed. That evening, the happy couple drove off in the golf cart with Rachel showing up later and hiding in some bushes. With a lovely view of the Potomac River, Andrew asked Lauren to marry him…and she said yes! Rachel popped out of the bushes and got all the pics! Adult beverages flowed back at the house and our happily ever after story began!
