Detroit Institute of Arts
The Detroit Industry Murals in the Rivera Court are a series of 27 frescoes by Mexican artist Diego Rivera. The two main panels on the North and South walls depict factory workers; other panels depict advances made in various scientific fields, such as medicine and new technology. The series of murals, taken as a whole, expresses the idea that all actions and ideas are one.
The Henry Ford Museum
An incredible history museum that rivals the Smithsonian in DC! The museum collection contains the presidential limo of John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Thomas Edison's laboratory, the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop, and the Rosa Parks bus.
Motown Museum
The Motown Museum is dedicated to the legacy of the record label, its artists, and its music, and is housed in Motown's original headquarters and recording studio.
