Our Story
In the summer of 2021, Andrew was stirring with excitement for his first travel gig for work since the pandemic started. The Pontiac School District in Michigan needed support with their Summer School program, and Andrew was the perfect fit! Katie was also eager to get out in the world and to take a break from virtual teaching. Katie was instantly drawn to Andrew... he was an educator who loved to travel, and had a photo with Anthony Bourdain! She was so excited to meet him that she didn't even realize he lived in New Jersey. Katie hatched a plan to make Andrew fall in love with Detroit that summer (and hopefully with her, too). Katie and Andrew spent the summer exploring Detroit - and eventually, Katie's plan worked! Andrew moved to Detroit in March 2022 and they got engaged on December 23, 2022 in the Maldives. Andrew and Katie look forward to exploring the world together for years to come!!
