Downtown Wiscasset has a number of shops and a "Museum in the Streets" with signs leading you around historical locations and tours of historical buildings such as the 1811 Jail, the Nickle Sortwell House and the Castle Tucker.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD!  I, Julia, worked there for two summers, and it is a happy place.  Fresh oysters, drinks, snacks and a food truck on an outdoor patio over the river and working farm.  They do tours that you can book ahead online as well.

There are so many beautiful hikes in the area; this one leads you along the Damariscotta River with a small beach.

Dodge Point Preserve

This is the closest beach with sand, beautiful rock formations and usually a couple food trucks!  Arrive early in the day or late in the afternoon to secure parking!
