Beverly’s: On the 7th floor of the Resort, this is the nicest spot in town. Northwest fine dining with a hint of the ‘80s (but with iPad menus!), it’s a classic with a spectacular view, and a favorite for a special occasion or night out. Reservations are required on the weekends. (Tock) Tony’s on the Lake: Italian-American with Steaks a little ways out of town, but across the street from the water (also with dock parking) . A spot we frequent in the summer for a dinner with friends, it’s a fun setting and good food. Occasionally graced by plainclothes celebrities from the nearby Gozzer Ranch, reservations are needed almost always. (OpenTable) Terraza Waterfront: On a lovely terrace above the Spokane River (the outflow river of the lake), this place serves <latin-american?> cuisine in a great setting to watch the sunset. A ways out of downtown (but also with dock parking), this is also a great spot to have dinner on the water. (OpenTable) Crafted: If a millennial designed a hip burger place, this would be it. On the main drag (Sherman ave) in town, it’s walking distance from the resort. With ‘crafty’ burgers and pub food in a cool indoor-outdoor space and dozens of taps, it’s become a Cd’A institution. Very popular, so get a reservation or be prepared for a waitlist.
Cedars: Also a Cd’A legend for many decades, this restaurant is literally “on the water” floating right where the Spokane River begins. Also owned and run by the Resort, it’s close by, and quite an experience. Twigs: While a local chain, this location is brand new, and their food seldom disappoints for a casual lunch or dinner. Solidly American fare (with a big list of martinis, if you’re into that) right in town with a nice view of McEuen park and the marina. Vault Coffee: Go-to coffee spot with light breakfast options part way up Sherman. Hudson’s Hamburgers: An institution since 1908, this one’s for you if you love historical hamburgers. Their menu hasn’t changed, they don’t take cards, and don’t expect any thing besides pickles or onions (or legendary horseradish ketchup/mustard) on your burger, and maybe pie for dessert if you’re so inclined. Steps from the resort, often can be a bit of a line. Back Pocket Bakery: A new but amazing bakery, they have amazing pizza, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages.
