The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
We went to the Nelson on our second date, and it continues to be our favorite spot in Kansas City! We love it so much that it's where we chose to take our engagement photos. Admission is free, and there are multiple indoor galleries, and a lovely outdoor sculpture garden with the iconic Kansas City Shuttlecock statues. It's also only 0.4 miles away from our venue.
Pawn and Pint
Our favorite board game pub! Excellent games, atmosphere, and drinks.
River Market
The River Market in Kansas City is one of the coolest places there is! It's a large open market full of shops, bakeries, and restaurants, with a farmer's marker on the weekends, in the most walkable area of the city. It has a ton of Street-Car stops, which is totally free, which connects to a ton of other Kansas City areas!
Prehistoric Putt
If you know me and Andrew, you know that we LOVE mini golf. We first went to a Prehistoric Putt in Omaha, and were ecstatic when they opened one in near us. The courses include things like ziplining while throwing your ball as your first shot, pinball, foosball, and giant loop-de-loop obstacles. Our favorite course at this location is the Red course!
Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House
The best place to go if you want a taste of Kansas City bbq! We also went here on our second date. The best BBQ place in KC is highly contested, but this is a fan favorite. Their side dishes are amazing.
KC Craft Ramen
Our favorite ramen place in the area! Brighid's favorite is the spic miso or tonkotsu with the tofu, and Andrew's is the KC Red (spicy tonkotsu) with chashu. If you go here, you HAVE to get the brussel sprout appetizer. Brighid doesn't like brussel sprouts, but she loves these.
CHEWOLOGY
The only Taiwanese restaurant in the area! We go here quite a bit, and Andrew likes to complain about the egregious upcharge ($18 street food that would cost maybe $1 in Taiwan), but the food is amazing. Brighid's favorite: Fried Bao Bits and Taiwanese Fried Chicken Andrew's favorite: Gua Bao and Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup
Magic Noodle
Traditional hand-pulled Chinese noodles! Everything on the menu is great, but we prefer the soups. If you're getting a noodle dish, you *HAVE* to get the hand-pulled mid-round noodles. Chosun Korean BBQ
Our favorite Korean bbq in the area! Everything is great, from the kbbq to the various soup dishes. Brighid's favorite: TteokGuk and Sundubu Andrew's favorite: Dolsot Bibimbap

Betty Rae's Ice Cream
The most interesting ice cream shop in Kansas City. It has a ton of wonderful flavors like cookies and cream, chocolate, and coffee in collaboration with a local roaster. It also has a ton of more adventurous flavors like KC BBQ, miso caramel, and Goat Cheese, Apricots, & Candied Walnuts
Il Lazzarone Pizza
The best pizza in the area!! And located conveniently next to Betty Rae's and Donutology.
