Like a lot of 21st century couples, we met on a popular dating app. For our first date, we met in the middle in Seattle for dinner. What was supposed to be just dinner and perhaps a drink or two turned into several hours of talking to each other about anything and everything. By the end of the night, we both knew this was not your typical first date. Deep down we both felt that this was the beginning of something really special. We made plans to see each other again a couple of days later, and a couple of days after that, and again a couple of days after that....and the rest, as they say, is history.
In typical Andrew fashion, he decided to propose to me at the most unexpected time and place. Probably because he knows how much I like to sniff out a surprise! We drove up to the mountains with another couple friend of ours to cut down our own Christmas trees. It was the prime opportunity: beautiful setting, only a couple of our good friends there, and I was completely unaware of what was about to happen. As we were taking our picture with the tree we picked, and as the snow was lightly falling, Andrew got down on one knee and popped the question. In typical awkward Ashly fashion, I said "Yes!" followed by "Are you kidding me?" We're so, so excited to share and celebrate the next chapter of our lives with you. See you in the Emerald city!
