How We Met

Andres and Katherine’s love story is one beautifully written by God. Though they grew up miles apart Andres in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Katherine between California and Seattle, Washington, their paths were destined to cross. On April 7, 2019, in Spokane, Washington, God brought them together. At the time, Andres was finishing his final months of active duty in the Air Force, while Katherine was in her sophomore year at Whitworth University, attending on a full-ride scholarship. One evening, Katherine decided to visit a local dance studio called Satori. She was supposed to go with a friend, but when plans fell through, something told her to go anyway. That night, Andres was DJing for the studio. As soon as he saw her, he felt drawn to her. He dimmed the lights, played “Un Beso” by Romeo Santos, and asked her to dance. In that simple, unexpected moment, God planted the seed of something beautiful. A few months later, life took Andres to Orlando, Florida and in God’s perfect timing, Katherine soon felt called to make the same move. Neither of them could have predicted it, but deep down, they both knew this was meant to be. Today, Andres and Katherine have built a loving home together in Orlando, filled with faith, adventure, dancing, and the unconditional love of their American Bully, Rock. Their little family is a daily reminder of God’s blessings and perfect plan. As they begin this next chapter, Andres and Katherine hold close the words of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." They are overjoyed to celebrate their wedding day surrounded by the family and friends who have loved and supported them along the way.
