Andrea and Robbie met in December 2019 - Andrea had travelled to Sioux Falls to sing for a holiday concert with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, where Robbie is Principal Cello. Robbie barely had the courage to talk to Andrea, but luckily for him, she had worked up the nerve to ask him out after our last concert. We were both smitten immediately, and kept in touch every day after Andrea returned to New York. Andrea came back to visit Robbie in March of 2020, for what was to be two weeks, that turned into five weeks, and then indefinitely as we decided to stick together through the early months of the pandemic. The pandemic gave us the excuse to spend months at a time with each other's families, to slow down, and to make room for the things that really matter to us. We moved Andrea out of New York in July 2020 and drove a U-Haul back to Sioux Falls, fully committed to starting a life together. Andrea has adopted Robbie's cat, Chauncey, and now they belong to each other. Robbie is ok with this. Last summer, we purchased a house of our own where we feel so fortunate to live now. We have both been able to expand our performing careers, while focusing on building our life together, sometimes we even make music together! Andrea was invited to sing with the SDSO again in December of 2021 for the same holiday concert as when we first met. How could Robbie miss such a golden opportunity to ask her the question he knew he wanted to ask since the day they met? Robbie popped the question on stage, in the same spot where we had our first conversation - this time, Robbie beating Andrea to the punch! We couldn't think of a better place to get married, the shores of Lake Michigan where we have spent two long, warm, and rejuvenating summers together. We are so excited to invite all of you to celebrate our love, friendship, and optimism for the future as we join our lives together in marriage. Don't worry, there will be a party too!
