Bride
Andrea grew up in Chicago. After a stint in LA and NYC, she found herself back in her hometown in her late 20s. She is excited to celebrate with her friends and family in her favorite city. Andrea shares two tiny dogs with Shane.
Groom
Shane is also a Chicago native, growing up in Lincoln Park and attending UChicago Lab school. Although he now lives on the Northshore near his mother's family, he is excited to host his wedding at the Adler, where he spent many field trips as a kid. Shane loves space and that he gets to go to the exhibits while the museum is formally closed on their wedding night.
Mother of the Bride
Jeanne is the mother of the bride, and her best friend. They have been laughing together for 34 years and counting. She and Peter regularly babysit their granddogs.
Mother & Stepfather of the Groom
Wendy is the mother of the groom. Shane is her oldest, and the one to come over to fix things. They now live 1.5 miles from each other, and typically share Shabbat dinner together. Eddie is Wendy's husband, and the stepfather of the groom. He met Shane when he was in his teens. Eddie was a big help with everything related to the purchase of the couple’s first home together in Highland Park, IL, and continues to be a guru for all their home projects.
Father of the Bride
Peter is the father of the bride, and her biggest supporter. He still calls her Toots, and used to make her pirate eyes when she was sick. Andrea and her father share a love for Costco.
Father of the Groom
David is the groom's father. Though he is no longer with us, he lives on in spirit through his unfinished business. Shane enjoys many of his father's hobbies, including sailing and home repair projects.
Honored Family
Pebbles is the first born of Shane, though she has been formally adopted by Andrea. Shane picked her because she was very playful and loving from their first meeting. Pebbles is the goodest of girls.
Honored Family
Lucky is their second born. Andrea wanted a sibling for Pebbles, and ended up with her choice of one of two girls in a small litter in Anna, IL. Lucky shares a birthday with Shane.
Matron of Honor
Zoe is the bride's cousin. Both grew up as only children and treated (and fought) each other like sisters. They spent many school breaks between Chicago and LA, where Zoe's family moved, and swapped places when the bride went to school in California. Zoe now lives in Nashville with her wife, Mia, and menagerie of animals.
Best Man
Ryan is the middle brother to the groom. While Ryan and Shane have a lot in common, including integrating smart home tech and achieving United 1K status, they can also engage in healthy debate about every topic imaginable. Ryan has done an amazing job planning Shane's bachelor, including going to the length of keeping his destination and date a secret. Ryan lives with Bee, the family dog Addison, and their new puppy Pluto.
Bridesmaid
Amy met the bride for the second time at Lincoln Park High School, where they became fast friends. Their first encounter was at DePaul orchestra in grade school where Amy played first chair, and Andrea and Emily second. They have a lot in common, including being the loudest voices in any given room.
Best Man
Sean is the groom's youngest brother. Shane loves to impart his wisdom on Sean as the oldest Selig.
Bridesmaid
Bee is Ryan's girlfriend, and first was introduced to the family over a year and half ago. We've never seen Ryan happier. Bee is always a pleasure to hang with and gets along so well with all the personalities of the family!
Groomswoman
Andrea met Shane while they were both at "the WeWork", and instantly bonded over getting small dogs with P names. As it turns out, Pickle and Pebbles became best friends and continue to have playdates, now with their new siblings, Lucky and Zoey. Andrea is one of the few individuals Shane saw regularly during COVID, so it’s been a pleasure to finally go out again together.
Bridesman
Ben and Andrea met in freshmen year at Pomona College, where they bonded over being from "Chicago" (Ben is from Beach Park). Both also lived in NYC at the same time (Ben is still there) and share a love for the late “dollar slice”. Ben runs his own tutoring business in Manhattan.
Groomsman
Keith is the groom's brother-in-law and father of the flower girl. When Shane first met him, he immediately knew he would make a great addition to the family. They can always enjoy a nice whiskey together, and discuss home projects. Keith lives with Megan, their beautiful daughter, Tala, and their Husky children, Remy and Reece.
Bridesmaid
Emily and the bride grew up together, attending the same kindergarten, grade school, and high school. As friends in adulthood, the bride no longer bullies her and they can share a laugh at the past. Emily lives with her husband, David, and two daughters, Ellie and Lucie, a street over from Andrea's parents.
Groomswoman
Leslie and the groom met at UChicago Lab School. Leslie is Shane’s oldest friend.
Bridesmaid
Megan is the groom's sister and mother of the flower girl. Megan and Shane have always been close, enjoying many family traditions, including Ron of Japan, together. Megan and Keith recently had Tala, and we are so excited to get to know the first niece of the family and watch her grow!
Groomsman
Teddy is a college friend of the groom, and AEPi brother. Shane helped Teddy start Lights on the Lawn, a nonprofit that holds an annual charity concert to raise money for the Mary Parrish center. Both originally from Chicago area, they spent their college years in Nashville.
Bridesmaid
Meredith and the bride became friends during sophomore year, where both were roommates in the Oldenborg language hall at Pomona College. Many a late night ended in the In N Out drive-through. They share many fond memories with Ben from their time as founding members of the Tic Toc club.
Groomsman
Tim and the groom met while living in Michigan Avenue Towers in the South Loop. They enjoyed nights out at their favorite neighborhood haunts, until Tim moved away to California. Fortunately, Tim is now back in the city - at least for the non-winter months.
Honored Family
Mary is the mother of Shane's sister, Megan, and has known Shane for his whole life. They've spent many significant moments together over the years. We are so happy to share this celebration with all branches of our family!
Flower Girl
Tala is the daughter of Megan and Keith, and the newest edition to the family. She is both the youngest and cutest member of the wedding party. Tala is always in good spirits and loves her older siblings, Remy and Reese.
