Lodging Recommendations

Our venue, the Eureka Lodge, is a restored miners' boardinghouse built in the 1920's. The guest rooms are cozy, but simple, with shared bathrooms. For those who would prefer a bit more privacy, the town of Silverton just 8 miles down the road from the Eureka Lodge has a variety of basic and luxury hotels, as well as numerous Airbnb options. We have arranged for a discounted hotel block at the Prospector Motel. Additionally, next door to the Eureka Lodge is the Eureka Campground with camping spots available for both tents and RVs.

Eureka Lodge

The Eureka Lodge is the location of both the ceremony and reception. The entire lodge will be exclusively available to our guests on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17. Most rooms sleep two guests in a queen or full bed. There are two rooms that sleep three with one twin and one bunk bed. There are three full baths and two half baths that are shared among the 16 guest rooms. A hot breakfast is included on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The cost per room is $125 per night. How do I get to Silverton, Colorado?

The beautiful town of Silverton is a National Historic Landmark located in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. It is a 6-7 hour drive from Denver. Please note, US-50 between Montrose and Gunnison is undergoing significant road construction. Avoiding this section of road likely will only pertain to those driving from Denver or Creede. Check COTrip.org for updates. We suggest taking I-70 from Denver to Grand Junction, then 550 south to Montrose and then 50 south to Silverton. (550 becomes 50) There are four airports located near Silverton: La Plata County Airport in Durango 80 miles south of Silverton (1 hour 30 minute drive) Montrose Regional Airport in Montrose 62 miles north of Silverton (1 hour 40 minute drive) The drive from Montrose to Silverton takes you along the “Million Dollar Highway,” touted as one of the most scenic drives in the US. Telluride Regional Airport in Telluride 72 miles west of Silverton (1 hour 50 minute drive) Much of this drive also takes you along the “Million Dollar Highway.” Grand Junction Regional Airport in Grand Junction 120 miles northwest of Silverton (2 hour 30 minute drive) All airports have car rental agencies available. 4WD vehicles should not be required, however, a higher clearance vehicle may be preferred.

Discounted rooms are available exclusively for wedding guests on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17. Rates are $170-$230 per night depending on room and amenities. Call to make reservations and mention that you are a guest of the Smith Cameron wedding. Rooms must be booked by August 1 for guaranteed rate and availability.
