About us

The Wedding Website of Andrea Magaña Tinoco and Timothée Valentin
We met in State College, in the little mountains of central Pennsylvania, where we were both doing our studies. It was a beautiful day in August 2021, back when we were still young and beautiful (and we still are). A year later we moved together in our first casita, across the street of Tim's apartment. It was our final year in State College as Andrea became a master, for the second time, and Tim a doctor. In the meantime, we got engaged. In June 2023, we had to leave all our great friends in central PA to move further North to experience that Michigan's suburban life. We got married on September 2, 2023 in Ann Arbor. Our idea was to first get married in the US and then have a bigger ceremony in France and/or Mexico (one you can all attend hopefully). Our third summer together started, as the other two, by moving to a new place. This time, it was in a big and beautiful house in Lansing where Andrea works at the state parliament and Tim as a professor at Michigan State.

Andrea

Bride

Whenever I would introduce Andrea to anyone, what stood out was always an overwhelming feeling of niceness. This is the same feeling that I had the very first time we talked together and certainly one of my favorite qualities. Andrea is very social: she would easily talk to people and try as much as she can to make them comfortable. She has a gift to know what a person needs and she cares a lot about those around her. Andrea is also very funny, almost always on purpose. Andrea loves flowers and plants and I often hear her talking to her 'babies'. She is always very excited whenever her tulips would be about to blossom. Her love for flowers is also reflected in her wardrobe with her countless flower-themed dresses. Andrea is passionate about politics and she lived her passion not only through her job but also as a volunteer in the different poll stations of the country. She has a deep sense of social justice and volunteered in several associations wherever we lived. Andrea is also a proud Mexican ( and Guanajuatense), following and discussing with me the news of her country, showing me the countless memes, and almost drooling when thinking about tacos de lengua and other Mexican delicacies. I could not tell you the amount of times where she asked me "you know what would make it better?" and the answer is invariably "lemon and chili powder". Many more is left to be said but hopefully you'll get to know her very soon.

Timothée

Groom

If you meet Tim once, you quickly learn these 3 things: 1- Tim loves music not in a casual, surface-level way, but with a profound passion & an exquisite taste. From reggae to hip-hop, via Latin music. 2- Tim likes his sports: tennis, basketball, football & now pickleball. Tim isn’t just a team player in every sense of the word, but he also has incredible sports knowledge. 3- Tim is an incredibly sensitive & observant person. Since you meet him, he is listening &observing you. He is aware of the world around us & cares about it. If you had the privilege to meet Tim more that once, you now know these 3 things: 1- His love for music goes beyond tones. Tim moves through life at his own beat, refusing to let the pressures lead the way. He listens not just to the music but to the stories & cultures it carries. 2- His sportsmanship goes beyond rooting for the underdogs. Tim is the teammate everyone wants, the one you pick first without hesitation. He’s your defense, your winger, & your #1 cheerleader. 3- Tim’s sensitivity runs deep. He is someone who embraces his emotions & expresses his feelings without reservation. Tim makes those around him feel seen & safe. If you marry Tim at least twice you know these 3 things: 1- You’ll gain an incredible & ever-growing collection of records. 2- It will be a toss-up for who will cry first during a moving movie. 3- There will be plenty jokes, some funnier than others. It is a pleasure to introduce him again as my husband!
