Our Story

Our story began 4 years ago at an Engage youth service at Vital Church. We had a quick, brief conversation about Christian rappers and became friends that night. Our friendship was more as acquaintances for over a year. As 2019 came around, we connected more, both noticed we were going to the same functions yet we were both at different seasons in our lives. Our level of friendship grew more over the months and eventually turned into a courtship. We were always hanging out, going out with friends as a group, and becoming more exclusive to the people around us. We made sure to get the green light from our parents so we can date. From that moment on, the rest is history. While one of us had the high school experience, the other was homeschooled and missed out on a lot of important high school events such as prom. So the idea of having a prom themed party was put into works. A lot of thought, love, and effort was put into it to make the night memorable. October 16, 2020, the day was cold and cloudy, but we put our faith in God that the sky would hold its rain so our event could be perfect. Although we were together the whole day, we still wanted the traditional prom pick-up where the guy knocks on the door and the girl opens it, they take pictures, and go to the prom together, so that’s what we did. We enjoyed the night surrounded by our parents, friends and family, we voted on prom king and queen, got crowned because obviously it was our event so everyone voted for us and then we proceeded to the first dance as prom king and queen. Our friends began to sing us a special song, nervous as can be, all eyes were on us and neither of us knew how to dance. We locked our eyes on each other and we were whispering heartfelt thoughts to each other during that moment. One of our friends caught my attention, next thing I know, Jason was on his knee with a ring in his hand. This was truly a magical moment having both of our parents, family and friends there. A night to remember!
