Andrea Osorio Rincon

Bride

I was born and raised in Colombia. I left to come to Georgetown Law to study my masters in 2010 and after 9 years, DC feels like home now. I like music, dancing (I'm Colombian after all) and yoga. I am the luckiest girl because I found Jim, a smart, sharp, kind, talented and warmed hearted handsome man that I will call my partner in life forever.

Jim Smalley

Groom

Originally from the Philadelphia suburbs (coincidentally near where Andrea would spend her summers), I went to Penn State, and then to Washington, DC where I work for the USPTO. I like indie rock music and concerts, cooking (and taking perfect pictures of) epic dinners for Andrea, hockey, and all-things France. I am blessed to have found the love of my life in Andrea, and am looking forward to celebrating our marriage with all our friends and family.

Nancy Diazgranados

Maid of Honor

Nancy has not only been one of my closest friends in DC but she has been my adviser and informal therapist. Nancy has been a great friend to me and I could not imagine my life in DC without her. We have shared many moments together, including moving to our new places, traveling and sharing our love for opera. Nancy is easily one of the smartest people I know, she is a walking dictionary, but most importantly she has a golden heart.

Richard Smalley

Best Man

My brother Rich has always been my first role model. After Penn State, Rich went North to NYC, and I went South to DC. Through the ups and downs, we've maintained a healthy sense of humor over Manhattans and jam sessions. I am honored to have Rich serve as my Best Man, although I hope he doesn't embarrass me too much during his speech!

Colleen Vivori

Bridesmaid

I met Colleen when Jim and I first dated in 2016. We had an instant connection and we remained in touch when V1 didn't work out between Jim and I. Colleen is the person who brought Jim and I together again. It was Colleen's magic words that allowed us to have an honest conversation that helped us to start dating again. For this reason, Colleen will always be a very important part of our love story and in our wedding day.

Sara Nabizadeh

Best Woman

Sara has been one of my closest friends for nearly 10 years. Wife of groomsman Tim Kratzer, she is a loyal friend, adventurous traveler, epic photographer, and top chef. Sara has been one of the most supportive people in my life, has given me much advice, and asked me to serve as her Best Man in her wedding in France in 2016. It is with great pleasure I ask Sara to be my Best Woman.

Ana Cristina Calderon

Bridesmaid

The moment I met Anita when I first moved to DC, I knew we were going to be good friends. Our friendship started by coincidence and it has continue to grow ever since. Anita has been a very important part of my time in DC, not only because she is a loyal, caring, and loving friend, but also because she gets me, even when I'm completely lost in our long Whatsapp chat conversations.

Tim Kratzer

Groomsman

I first met Tim doing an interview with him on his band The Vita Ruins in 2006, and we soon became close friends over music and sports. I was proud to be part of Tim's current band, Honest Haloway, playing gigs across the DC area, and honored to be part of Tim's wedding, where he married Sara, my Best Woman. Tim is the ultimate loyal friend, unwavering, nonjudgemental, and is an incredible songwriter and producer.

Catalina Chamorro

Bridesmaid

Cata and I met in law school and became like sisters. We have shared so many moments together. Cata and I spent many Saturdays hanging out at my Mom's house in Bogota, partying through law school, having deep conversations about life and relationships, and most importantly, supporting each other. We were lucky enough to live at the same time in DC for a year but distance has never been a problem for us.

Eric Devansky

Groomsman

Eric has been a loyal friend for many years, host of many Football Sundays (yelling at our crappy fantasy football players), barbecues, and has caused many injuries to my ribcage from his effortless and endless sense of humor. Eric's enthusiasm for his friends, cars, indie rock bands, and life in general, is contagious, and I am honored he will be joining us from Denver, in Bogotá.

Helena Afanador

Bridesmaid

Helenita and I have been friends since 9th grade. She has been in my life for many years and she has always been a great friend to me. We have shared several moments throughout the years, including staying up up all night working on calculus projects, having the best New Year's Eve parties in Bogota, being completely disappointed at the Madonna concert in DC, as well as being there for each other in the hardest moments, even when we were miles away. Our friendship has always been strong and solid regardless of the distance.

Noé Hatchuel

Groomsman

I've known Noé for over 25 years, having met in middle school in the Philadelphia suburbs. Our friendship spans two languages (French), several hockey teams, a Pink Floyd concert, and countless laughs. People always ask me why I studied French, and one of the reasons was to be able to communicate with Noé's family in Nice, France, who kindly hosted me on two occasions (1994 and 1998). I am beyond happy Noé will be one of my groomsmen.

Sicily Thompson

Bridesmaid

Sicily is my cousin (almost sister) Mia's daughter. We have shared many moments together and I have really enjoyed seeing her growing into the beautiful and witty young lady that she has become.

Katya Ananieva

Groomswoman

Katya is a close and loyal friend to both Jim and Andrea. She's lived all over the world (Ukraine, Venezuela), is a successful entrepreneur, and has killer moves on the dance floor. She has lent an attentive ear, and warm heart to each of us in our time together. Some of Andrea's and my best times are catching up over a few glasses of champagne, with Katya.

Maria Cecilia Rincon

Mother of the Bride

My Mom has simply been my everything in life. A hard-working, smart, sharp, kind and resilient woman that taught me all I know and who showed me, by example, what things were important in life. My mom has always been there for me. We are mother and daughter but we are also friends; we truly enjoy each other's company, traveling together, and just having endless conversations. She always told me not to settle for less that I wanted, and I am grateful because that's how I found my love, Jim.

Jane Corey

Mother of the Groom

My mother has been one of - if not the most - influential people in my life. She has a tenacious pride which carried her from South Philly to UPenn Nursing, and beyond. Mother of four children and wife to my Step Father Don, she is the keystone of our family, and is a strong leader. I am almost brought to tears thinking about all the morning she had lunches ready for us before she left to heal the sick, dinner when we got home, and made sure we were responsible, respectful people. There is no greater love than that between a mother and her child. xoxo

German Osorio

Father of the Bride

My Dad is a hard-working man that showed me that you have to keep going no matter what happens in life. He made sure that I was well educated and that I had a strong character to face life challenges. Some of my good memories were with my Dad and brothers, Juan Pablo and German, in Santa Marta.

Mr. Richard Smalley

Father of the Groom

My Dad gave me a warm, caring heart, a love of family, an appreciation for military history, athletic legs, Philly sports, and a healthy sense of humor. He served in the Army, has been an active member in all of his Presbyterian Churches, and has no shortage of friends who love the way he brightens any situation. Together, we've toured Normandy, London, and await our next adventure. "We shall always walk together through life."

Gabriela Osorio

Flower Girl

Gaby is my beloved niece. We have always been super close, despite the distance. I always enjoy our time together, be it in Bogotá, the US, or FaceTime. I've seen her grow into a stunning young girl, and look forward to seeing her fulfill her potential in life.

Maggie Thompson

Flower Girl

Maggie is my cousin Mia's daughter. She is really interested in Colombian culture and she can't wait to go to Colombia for the first time. She has a contagious sense of humor, her own arts and crafts shop, and is a bright and witty girl. I am honored to have her in our ceremony.

Elisa Quintana

Flower Girl

Elisa is Valeria's daughter. Valeria and I have been friends since fourth grade and we also went to law school together.

Sofia Mojica

Flower Girl

Sofia is Vanessa's daughter. Andrea met Vanessa when she started working at the Bank and they became really good friends.

Gabriel Aritizabal

Ring Bearer

Gabriel is Carolina's soon. Carolina and Andrea met in law school and they have shared a lifelong friendship despite the distance.
