If you want to feel the heartbeat of Atlanta, grab a scooter and hit the BeltLine. That’s our go-to adventure! It’s a fun way to take in the city’s energy, from murals and greenery to music and people-watching. Along the way, make sure to stop by Piedmont Park, yummy spots to grab a bite, and you can even make it to Ponce City Market for more food spots, shopping, and rooftop views. If you’re craving wings, cross the street to The Local, not just for the food, but because it’s where we had our first date! (and where Andrea crushed Efrain in darts).
Virginia Highlands is one of our favorite neighborhoods to stroll around. It’s full of little shops, laid-back streets, volleyball! and more good food. We love stopping by Pielands for pizza, and if you’re in the mood for live music, Blind Willie’s is always a solid choice.
For a dose of art (and air conditioning!), head to the High Museum of Art! They have amazing galleries that change frequently, so there is always something new to see. And the best part? Admission is free on the second Sunday of each month! (you still have to "buy" a ticket on their website). But even if you don't make it inside, the outside is worth a visit. The building itself is beautiful, and there’s a little house on the lawn you can't miss! It may look simple, until you walk past it and realize something feels... not quite how it should.
If you want to hit some of Atlanta’s most iconic spots, head over to Centennial Olympic Park. It’s surrounded by all the classics: the College Football Hall of Fame, the World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. You can easily make a whole day of it. And for anyone visiting the World of Coke, don't miss trying the Beverly soda!
If you’re staying a little longer, consider a trip out to Stone Mountain, about 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta. It's a great hike with special view of the city.
