Summer softball league in Beacon Hill. It was August 2014 and I had never played the game but the McNasties needed another girl for the co-ed team. I showed up (late) and full of nerves but the memory of Chase walking into the dugout from the outfield is etched in my memory. Two softball seasons, some honky-tonkin, a chance encounter in Fremont ... and we came full circle back to the softball pitch. It was May 2016 and the McNasties’ last game of the season. I showed up to spectate and cheer on my friends... but really I showed up to see Chase. He invited me golfing, and to the Lumineers, and to go boating... it started out fun and intensified into a genuine time of my life. Here was someone who matched my love for county music, concerts, new restaurants, craft cocktails, breweries, golf, boating and oysters. Summer turned to fall... and Chase helped me recover from a concussion that slowed me down through the winter. We got to know a new side of each other, and found that in the quiet, what we had was deep and real. We planned international adventures and flew across the world to Vietnam and Korea where we ate exotic foods, saw world wonders and spent two straight weeks together. We came home to Seattle surprised to find ourselves not ready to part ways to head to each of our respective apartments. So we didn’t. We moved in together, and the fun just kept on. He became my spider killer, my key finder, my lazy Sunday morning. In May of 2018 we bought a home together. In August we got engaged. And now we get to celebrate our love with you in April 2019! Xoxo
I first met Andi during the summer of 2014; It was a hot summer night on a dusty softball field in Seattle. We had both signed up to play on the same co-ed softball team. She was definitely 10 mins late but made quite the first impression anyway! It was not her softball skills believe it or not, which caught my eye but her smile, energy and humor. We ended up playing a couple seasons of softball together and saw each other just a few times outside of softball but nothing ever came to be. It wasn't until two years later when she showed up to a late night softball game in which I was playing where I thought, this could be my chance to charm her. We ended up going to a local bar after the game where I strategically picked my seat next to her and shared some great laughs. We decided to go to a summer Lumineers concert together, boat throughout the summer, play uneven tennis matches during weekdays and golf enough to consider it an addiction. We lived life that summer to its fullest! Andi endured a concussion late that summer which caused us to slow down and really spend some time understanding one another. It was at that point where I knew I could tell I was really falling for her. After she was feeling back to normal we sped up again and traveled internationally to Vietnam, which is the real test for any couple, and then made the decision to move in together. From there we kept it very simple and bought a house, got engaged and now have a dog named Bogey. I wouldn't trade a day without her. We look forward to having you all together to enjoy our wedding day!
