We took part in an unconventional route of counseling: "Pre-Engagement Mentoring". This is where we could evaluate whether we were truly serious about this relationship and what God has planned for us before we committed to an engagement.

We will both point to those 5 months of meeting weekly with our mentor couple, John and Sarah Pell, and two other couples going through this process as some of the most formative and crucial months of our lives.

We learned that relationships can only grow when our faults and weaknesses can be brought openly and vulnerably to one another in community.

In these 5 months, we crafted our values as a couple that we would like to share with you...

We believe marriage is a covenant between two imperfect people.
We believe love is more than a feeling but a selfless partnership.
We believe God is the creator of love and hence the center of love.
We believe marriage demands mutual submission in all times.
