What is this all about? Obviously marriage. But 50% of couples today end in divorce, so, why do two early 20s people who happened to meet at a restaurant think they have what it takes? It's about covenant. Covenant means the coming together, it assumes that two or more parties are coming together to make a contract made on promises and responsibilities. In biblical terms, Brian and I have already been in a covenant with our God, who made a covenant to never leave us. Now, Brian and I want to reflect our first covenant with God in our relationship. To love and serve each other in the better or worse, rich or poor, in sickness and in health now and forever. To get a glimpse at and share the awesome work of God in our lives today.
Brian and Andrea met working at Five Guys Burgers & Fries in Olympia, WA the summer after Andrea graduated from high school. They instantly hit it off as they quickly became friends and loved working shifts together. Andrea went off to school in Spokane, WA after that summer but still maintained her friendship with Brian. When Andrea returned to Five Guys that next summer, Brian started attending her church and started getting plugged into the Westwood Baptist community. Brian chose to commit his life to Christ that summer, and six months later Brian and Andrea began to date. The rest was history as they endured moves across the state, many days watching The Office together and always returning to their favorite restaurant to enjoy a burger.
If you have been invited to our wedding then you played a crucial part in either Andrea or Brian's lives. We are so thankful for you and your families and we cannot wait to celebrate with you on August 10.
