If 8 years ago, someone had told me that I was going to marry that boy who lived in the dorm one floor below me, I never would have believed it. As I write these vows, I still wonder if I could be dreaming. That I could be so lucky as to call you my husband for the rest of my life. You make it so easy to love you. You are kind, and respectful, and are always able to make me laugh no matter how sour my mood. But most of all, I love you because of who I am when I’m with you. I wouldn’t not be the person I am today without you. I promise to always support you in your passions and your work. I promise to enjoy our lazy days in as much as our crazy adventures around the world. I promise to always listen when you read your favorite book passages to me, even if you’ve already recited them 10 times before. I’m so excited to be your wife, but the truth is that before you asked me, I was yours. I love you.

Since we've been together for eight years already, I've decided to break my vows into two sections: past and future, gratitude and hopes. Thank you for being constantly by my side, through good and bad, moving and changing with me as we make our life together. Thanks for listening to my jokes, for expanding my perspective bit by bit over the past eight years. Thanks for the experiences I would have missed had I not met you. Thanks for forcing me out of my comfort zone and enriching my life with your love. Thanks most of all for being my closest friend and companion, an unwavering source of council and support that keeps me excited to see what each day brings. I hope that I can be the same for you. I hope that we will grow old together, and that when we do we will not be weathered by the world but will instead bloom like children and play together like dogs. I hope that our home will be a haven for love and that we will bring good to the world in all our acts. Most of all, I hope I spend the rest of my life waking up with you.
