FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather at Mountain Top Inn and Resort is calling for highs in the 40's to 50's and lows in the 20's-30's. We don't anticipate precipitation but in New England any weather is possible. Please dress accordingly and plan to bring layers including gloves and scarves. We will only be outside for our ceremony for approximately 30 minutes as well as any family photos (15-25 min). This will be moved to inside only if there is steady precipitation. Everything else planned will be inside.

Question

Is there any complimentary transportation to/ from the inn from the houses on site?

Answer

Yes! Mountain Top graciously provides complimentary shuttle rides to all guests while on-site especially the night of the wedding. After the wedding is over we highly encourage all guests returning to their houses on site to take the shuttle which should run every few minutes. You can call the main line at 802-483-2311 if you dont not see it to reserve or stop by the front desk to ask for the shuttle. These shuttles will run as late as we need them to.

Question

Will there be any local taxis or Uber/ Lyfts to transport us to/ from Mountain Top to nearby towns Rutland, Killington etc?

Answer

If you are staying off-site in a hotel in Rutland or Killington we have been told there are NO Uber/ lyfts to rely on and that local taxi services are more reliable. We have arranged a special deal for the guests of our wedding through Tri-state Transportation taxi service to all cars up to 4 people to transport guests from Rutland or Killington to Mountain Top Inn and Resort for a flat rate of $20 each ride. You will need to call ahead at least an hour to this number 802-855-3130 in order to reserve the taxi. This can be reserved going both to and from the wedding and reception and can even be ordered late at night as long as you give the company an hour or more notice.

Question

What is the dress code for the weekend?

Answer

Each event has the dress code listed on the schedule: The rehearsal dinner is cocktail attire (invitations sent out along with reception invitations). The ceremony and wedding reception are all black tie optional. The After Party is cocktail attire but many guests may find it easier to keep on their reception clothes. Any other details are listed underneath the Wedding Weekend Schedule.

Question

What is the check-in for the houses and rooms at Mountain Top Inn & Resort?

Answer

Check-in for the rooms at Mountain Top Inn are at 3 pm. Check-in for the houses is 4 pm. Check-out for both the houses and the rooms is 11 am so please plan accordingly with your breakfast schedule if planning to attend the Farewell Brunch. If you are staying off-site at a nearby hotel please check in with their policies for check-in/ check-out when planning your schedule for the weekend.

Question

Are phones/ photography allowed during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that phones be turned off during the ceremony as well as no personal photography be taken during this time. We will have a professional photographer as well as a videographer with assistants capturing each moment for us. These photos and video will be then be shared afterwards through email/ facebook once available. We would prefer that you enjoy the moment and keep your hands free to follow along in our program & participate in our petal toss during the recessional. We also ask that phones stay off to stay courteous to the other guests & don't want phones in our professional photos. During the reception you may feel free to take your own photos out as long as they are on silent. We have arranged for a "Magic Mirror" photo booth that print photos automatically and are saved digitally with unlimited photo prints for all guests for formal as well as fun, goofy photos. We'll also have our photographers and videographers capturing those moments as well. Thank you in advance!
