We met how many millennials are these days… a dating app. Thanks Hinge! John gave a very cheesy pickup line to Lauren, they texted and decided to enjoy a beer or two for happy hour at a local Irish bar, River Shannon. Little did they know, the bar, fresh out of Covid, sold all their beer and only had hard liquor. After one gin and tonic and vodka soda, they both knew if the date were to be successful they needed to leave (the drink was 5 parts liquor to 1 part mixer). They walked all around Lincoln Park and Old Town to realize that it was a beautiful June evening and every single intramural team in the city was celebrating the same wonderful night. They kept striking out at places to go, until they finally found Woody’s in Old Town with the most perfect outdoor 2-top. They sat down and John promptly ordered two beers and two tequila shots. He didn’t know it yet but this was the first sign to Lauren that he was someone special - because he liked to have fun! After that night, they continued to date, John eventually moving into Lauren’s condo, gaining their favorite 4-legged furry friend Walter, and the rest is history!
