What will the weather be like in Crested Butte? What should I wear?

Answer

The weather in July in Crested Butte will be sunny and somewhere between 70 and 80 degrees. No humidity. Up in the mountains, weather can shift quickly, and cloud cover can come and go. When clouds are overhead, the air can be a bit chilly, even in the middle of the day. We recommend you dress for summer, but bring a light jacket and for anyone particularly sensitive to changes in temp, plan on dressing in layers. In the evenings it can easily be pants and jacket weather.

I've heard a lot of talk about making sure I drink enough water in Colorado... How necessary is this?

Answer

If there is only one thing you do upon arriving in Colorado, please make sure it is drinking enough water. Altitude Sickness is very real, and very uncomfortable. We've had friends visit and be stuck in bed for days because of it. Whatever amount of water you normally drink, drink even more while you're here. We can't stress this enough. We want everyone feeling top notch while visiting this beautiful place!
