So where is this thing?
Answer
78 Hammett Lane (NOT Hammett Road) in Chilmark, MA. It's about a mile down a long dirt road (drive carefully or you'll bottom out – we're serious). We'll have balloons and/or signs lining the road to direct you. Apple Maps will tell you that you've arrived before you actually do, so continue an additional 1/3 of a mile or until you see the sign for 78 and our wedding.

How does the ferry work?
Answer
Use steamshipauthority.com for all ferry inquiries. We advise parking in the shuttle lot and shuttling over (if you don't need a car) in Woods Hole, MA. If you plan to bring a vehicle it can get pricey and I recommend booking ASAP because those spots fill up. Note that you should show up for the ferry 30 mins in advance of your scheduled time. If you do not plan to bring a car and you would rather just come for the day, take a taxi/uber/etc. or bike around, you don't need to reserve your ferry spot ahead of time and you can purchase a walk-on ticket. You can also purchase a walk-on ticket ahead of time through their site.

Can I do a day trip there?

Yes! You can totally choose to stay off-island or just come over for the day. It'll be a long day, but it's possible. Falmouth area, Woods Hole, etc. are also all lovely spots nearby to stay if you don't want to stay on-island.

What do I do with my car?
Answer
We highly advise that you carpool. At the house where the wedding is, we can fit probably 20-30 cars max, so please link up when possible! The house is NOT walkable from anywhere (it's a mile down a long dirt road). 1. If you want to drive to Woods Hole and leave your car, park at one of the Steamship Authority parking lots and shuttle over (they provide a shuttle) to the ferry. Where do I stay?

I recommend looking for an AirBnb, VRBO, hotel, etc. in Chilmark, MA (or anywhere on the island if you are bringing a car). Book early if you can! The Vineyard is popular...every time of year.

What's the attire?
Answer
Wear anything you want. We just want you to be comfortable. We have no rules. That being said, plan for both warm and cool fall weather (we do live in New England and this is on an island).
