We're tying the knot!

It's true what they say about invisible strings guiding people through life, weaving them in and out of each others paths until the perfect moment arrives. This is a story about how those invisible strings showed up for Jack and Pao. Jack and Pao both grew up in Orange County and attended the same high school, although they did not know each other at the time. Their lives converged in Texas, where they both studied Mechanical Engineering at SMU. As teaching assistants for the same class, they started to form a bond that would endure the test of time and distance. After graduation, Pao stayed in Dallas working full time while Jack took a job in North Carolina. In 2021, Jack moved back to Dallas and was able to reconnect with Pao. A quick catch up turned into going to try new restaurants together which turned into weekly movie nights which turned into daily talks on the phone which led to long walks on the Katy Trail. Before they knew it, their friendship had transformed into something more at the perfect time in their lives. Over the course of the last three years, Jack and Pao have adopted two cats - Rocky and Pebbles, started new jobs, bought a home together, and have been lucky enough to travel to Spain (where Jack proposed!), Portugal, France, the UK, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Ireland, and of course, Mexico. When they're at home, you can find Pao curled up in a book on the couch with the cats while Jack is testing new recipes for them to try and share with friends in the kitchen. When they're on the road, they savor every new city they go to, the culture, the food, and the experiences along the way. So why get married in Mexico? Pao is originally from Mexico City, and the majority of her extended family still lives there today. She has taken Jack to the city on multiple occasions and they have done everything from floating down the river on the boats of Xochimilco to trying new culinary experiences in el Zocalo to climbing the pyramids of Teotihuacan and more. They want to make their vows in a city that they both love and that offers everything they cherish about their travels - the life, culture, and incredible food. Mexico City is also home to a church that holds a lot of sentimental value for them. They are both so excited to show their friends and family around this incredible city while celebrating their wedding in 2025!
