Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be taking place in the Outdoor Ballroom at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be at an outdoor patio and the reception will be under a tent. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will also be under the tent.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Daily high temperatures in Poughkeepsie in July are around 83°F (28°C), rarely falling below 74°F (23°C) or exceeding 92°F (33°C).

What's the dress code?

Answer

Garden Party attire. Guys, think a suit and tie. Ladies, think a cocktail dress, dressy suit, or jumpsuit. Hats or fascinators definitely encouraged, but of course not required. (Try Googling "racetrack attire".)

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will be a shuttle from two of the hotels we have room blocks at (The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and The Holiday Inn Express) running half an hour before our ceremony until the last guest leaves for the evening. As of now, there is no free shuttle from Hyatt Place.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Why are you getting married in the Hudson River Valley region?

Answer

We've got guests coming from New England, Old England, New York, and the real OG York! With our guests in mind, we tried to make it as convenient as possible. For those of you traveling abroad, Poughkeepsie is less than two hours north of NYC. For those of you coming from around the states, we've tried to keep it fairly central. Plus, once you see the venue, you'll understand why we wanted to get married at The Grandview!

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

We are embracing the British-American inclusion without it being in-your-face and hope that is seen in our choices of food, music, floral arrangements, and other details throughout the day.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is complimentary valet parking at the venue, but please consider tipping the valet driver.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

There will be Welcome Drinks half an hour before the ceremony from 4:30pm - 5pm.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

During the ceremony, we invite you to be fully present and ask that you kindly turn off all cell phones and cameras to enjoy this special moment with us. We will happily share the photos that are captured by the professional photographer. You are welcome to take photos during the reception and use hashtag #anamasonwedding so we can enjoy them!

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

There will be a variety of passed and stationed hors d'oeuvres before a plated pre-entrée duet course and entrée. There will be an option of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetarian. No advanced notice is required; all entrées are prepared to order. In addition to wedding cake, there will be a dessert spread with cordials, coffee, and tea. Oh yeah, plus an open bar from start to finish!

Will there be any vegetarian or special diet options?

Answer

There will be a vegetarian meal option. Because all entrées are prepared to order, if you have any special dietary needs or restrictions, you can order directly through your server.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Please see our "Travel & Accommodation" section for several accommodation recommendations including three hotels with reserved room blocks. AirBnB is another option.

The reception is scheduled to end 10:30pm at The Grandview. Mahoney's Irish Pub and Steakhouse could be a post wedding party nightcap option, based in downtown Poughkeepsie.

Will there be dancing/entertainment?

Answer

Much Music DJ will provide entertainment for the evening.

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

We are having a welcome party the evening before the wedding and a brunch the day following the wedding.

We'll introduce you! Our friends and families are awesome, and we can't wait for everyone to hang out together!
