I LOVE my former town Smithfield, VA. where we raised our children and all except one of them graduated from Smithfield High School. This is a wonderful town to visit. They have a real farmers market on Saturday. They have a real bakery on Main street where I ordered three cakes for the reception. Most of all, if you are in a mood for excellent service and good food, I invite all of my guest to visit Wharf Hill Brewing Company or as locals refer to as "Wharf Hill." Grab a pint of fresh home brew. This is a wonderful experience and is why this is my #1 Choice.
For my guest with small children, this is a wonderful interactive museum with animals, plant life, birds, and sea creatures. They have a dinosaur park out back with a myriad of outdoor activities. I recommend spending time here. Your children will love it. Emily still enjoys going here with Michael and I.
For only 1 dollar----yes that is correct! You will take a historical tour of this museum rich with history about water stuff. It is absolutely a beautiful museum with a lot of boats and nautical things I have no idea because I grew up in a landlocked state. However, it's worth the trip for only a dollar. Take a walk at the Noland Trail right next to the museum.
