How We Met/ Cómo nos conocimos

November 2014

We met on a fun night out with mutual friends, Nick was in his last year of college, but we both made the commitment to make this relationship work with many drives back and forth, long nightly Facetime calls, and a promise to not let this go has kept us together. One of the most important things for me is my son and once he met Nick it was an immediate connection, they love each other! Knowing that made me feel at peace. I knew early on that I loved him, this only made us closer. We have made so many memories these past 5 years and can't wait to be getting married next year!

The Proposal

10.13.19

I knew our day was going to start with my sister Tori‘s performance at the Asolo theater in Sarasota. We got dressed up for her performance and made our way to the theater. After the show was over is when I told Francisco that I was going to propose later that day, he couldn’t have been more excited which made me extremely happy but also more nervous. Once we left the theater we went and grabbed dinner at Marina Jack’s with my dad, Kris, & Tori. The dinner seemed like it lasted an eternity but by the time we finished we still had roughly an hour before sunset, which is when I planned on proposing. But i didn't have to fight to kill time because Ana wanted to go home quickly to change her shoes before we took a walk around the Ringling bridge, which happens to be one of her favorite spots in Sarasota and a place we visit frequently. I had my trusty Mamiya 645 with a brand new roll of film in it and I had told her that I wanted to go by the bridge and take some test shots. We Walked around for a few minutes and then i found my spot, took a couple shots of the bridge, Ana and Frank, & then asked Frank to take a couple photos of us and that’s when it happened...I BLACKED OUT! But somehow found the words to ask her to marry me. Luckily, I had Rhiana (https://www.instagram.com/r.hiana) sneakily taking photos of the moment so I can somewhat remember what happened!
