How we met

January 24, 2016

In the late month of January 2016, Ana's roommate Mary and Marco's best friend Eduardo thought it would be a great idea to put these two together. Thinking that their fun, comical, and crazy personalities would match so well together. Of all the wonderful qualities Ana and Marco share, stubbornness shined brightest of all when it came to the idea of being "set up". Be it as it may, they ended up meeting at Agora coffee shop in Houston with Mary and Eduardo in tow. At the time, Ana and her roommates were new to the big city and Marco being the gentleman that he was, decided to take them under his wing. Though Marco and his pack of fun and spontaneous Spanish/Latino friends proved to be the best Houstonian tour guides... Marco was slow to act on his pursuit for Ana. Luckily for him, Ana likes to take things slow and get to know people well first. After months of being completely smitten with Ana, and after a night of dancing (because who can resist those dance skills) he finally mustered up the courage to ask her out on a date. This first date took place on Sunday Funday - with a walk filled with great conversation in the Houston Bayou, and ending with mass and Mexican food. You had me at Hello (Tacos). And you know..... The rest is history. :)

The Proposal

June 22, 2017

After a year and two months of dating, Ana and Marco were pretty eager to start their lives together. Unbeknownst to Ana when that day was going to arrive. She was excited for the day to come. With Ana working nights during the week, Thursdays are usually date night for these two. Both cherished to have that night specially for them each week. Marco asked if they could go to a proper steak house since they have never been to one before. Before heading to the steakhouse, Marco thought it would be a good idea if they took a walk in the park since it was a nice day (by the way, Houston was supposed to have a Tropical Storm that day, but it decided to not show up). After walking around for a while, Marco brought Ana to a specific spot of the park. This was a special spot where they had come and sat down before. Here they had talked about the future, qualities they would like for their future spouses, challenges, etc. This spot witnessed a very important moment in their relationship. Now, Marco brought Ana to that spot specifially to ask her to be his wife. When she said "YES!" she ugly cried, of course, while laughing and radiating with joy. After the proposal, they went to daily mass at Holy Rosary (the place where they will be getting married). This is a very important place for them because this is where they both grew closer together through their faith (good job Marco). After mass ended, he led her to the back of the church where the Priest (Father Marti) was waiting for them to bless their engagement (Ana ugly cried... again). After the blessing they went to a very nice steak house where they were seated at the best table in the restaurant. At the table, they were greeted with a bottle of champagne and Orchids, Ana's favorite flowers. The rest of the night was filled with laughter and tears of joy. Which will without a doubt carry on into their future marriage :)
