Hotel
We know that every guest has different needs, budgets, and preferences, so instead of selecting just one hotel, we’ve provided a variety of accommodation options. You can click the link to explore and choose the one that suits you best! For larger groups, we also recommend checking out Airbnb. Madrid is a very walkable and well-connected city, with easy access to public transportation, Uber, and taxis, so no matter which neighborhood you choose, getting around will be simple. The “Sol” area is the heart of the city and the most touristy, while staying near “Plaza Colón” is also a great option, as that’s where guests will be dropped off at the end of the night after the wedding.

Our wedding website is the best place to find all the important details, but we’ll also be sharing updates on our wedding Instagram page. After all, let’s be honest, we all check social media a little more often 😉. Follow along for updates and photos throughout the weekend! And if you share any pictures, we’d love for you to tag us!
Shuttle
November 28, 2025 3:15 pm
Shuttles will be waiting outside the church to transport guests to the reception venue, which is approximately 35 minutes away. At the end of the night, return shuttles to Plaza Colon in the city center will be available at: 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM. Feel free to choose the time that works best for you. If you prefer to leave at a different time, rideshare apps can access the castle and take you back to the city center.
Travel Note
If you haven't traveled to Europe before, we realize this process may come with a lot of questions! It was originally announced that non-EU passports would need to apply for the ETIAS travel authorization, but the start date was pushed back to 2026. If you have a US passport, you will not need a visa or travel authorization to enter the EU in November. If you have a passport other than an EU or US passport, you will likely need a Schengen visa. Please verify online if your nationality requires this visa.
Flight
You will be flying into Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD). Feel free to choose any flight that is convenient for you. If you are flying out of Miami, there are multiple nonstop options. If you are flying from somewhere other than Miami, or if you found a flight with a connection, we suggest having the connection inside the US instead of in Europe as you will have to go through customs and sometimes the lines can be long and problematic if you have a short connection. Ana's recommendation: If flying out of Miami, try to take the Iberia red-eye flight. It's non-stop and traveling overnight helps me sleep on the plane and fight jetlag upon arrival!

You have various ways to get from the airport to the city center: Taxi (20 min) 33€: This is what we recommend as it is the most convenient and quickest way to get to the city center. Right outside of terminal 4 (where you will likely land), is a taxi stand where someone will help you get a taxi Uber is available in Madrid, but you will have to cross to the parking lot with your luggage to be picked up. You can also use apps like Cabify and Freenow which are widely popular in Spain. Bus- Airport Express (35-45 min) 5€: You will take line 203 to Atocha train station and from Atocha Station, the Centro is only 1.5km away (under 1 mile), which is a 22 minute walk. You can also take the urban buses, metro, or a taxi to your accommodation. Tickets can be bought inside the bus in cash or via contactless payment. Train (31 min) 2.60€: Madrid airport’s train station is located at the underground level of T4 and goes to Atocha Station in about 31 minutes. The trains depart every 15 minutes. Once in Atocha, you can take a bus, metro, or taxi to your accommodation. Metro (45 min) 4.50€-5€: Madrid Airport is connected to the city via the Pink Metro Line 8. However, Metro Line 8 terminates at Nuevos Ministerios Station, where a transfer is required. From Nuevos Ministerios, you will change lines depending on where your accommodation is located. Tickets can be bought from the stations’ automatic machines.

Madrid has amazing public transportation options! Apple maps and Google maps are great options for checking what metro or bus line you should take to get to your destination. I also recommend downloading the Madrid metro app to help you navigate public transportation. Taxis are safe, reliable, affordable, and readily available all over the city! You can also use apps like Uber, Cabify, and FreeNow to get around. Many places are walking distance within the city center and I highly recommend taking advantage of the amazing fall weather and the beautiful architecture you will see all around you!
Travel Note
Spain uses Euros! Having some cash handy is always encouraged. The best way to do this is to request euros directly from your bank a few weeks before travel in order to receive the best exchange rate. You can also withdraw money upon arrival from ATMs in Madrid for a fee. Please note card payments and "tap-to-pay" are widely available all over the city. From taxis to restaurants to shopping to public transportation, you will be able to pay with your card or contactless payment. TIP: If you are asked whether you want to be charged in euros or your home currency, choose euros. This way, your bank's exchange rate will be used and it will typically be a much better rate.
