Retiro Park
This is the "central park" of Madrid and one of Ana's favorite places (though a little biased as it is where we got engaged). There is SO much to see and do here including: - Palacio de Cristal (though it is currently closed and you can't walk inside, don't miss seeing this beautiful building!) - Rowing Boats on the Lake - Visit the gardens - Casita del Pescador - Eat or drink at any of the kiosks across the park - Visit the library in the park - Plan a picnic at the park
Catedral Almudena
This stunning cathedral is a must-see in Madrid. We suggest going early in the morning to avoid big crowds.
Royal Palace of Madrid
The Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family in Madrid, although now used only for state ceremonies. If you would like a tour, you can visit the palace for 20€ Monday-Saturday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Sundays: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Plaza Mayor
Admire the details of Casa de la Panadería and Casa de la Carnicería, sit down for a sangria, and enjoy the famous Spanish Jamon. In the square, you will find Museo del Jamon, which is considered a local landmark for ham.
Puerta del Sol
In this square, you will find the emblem of Madrid: the statue of a bear and Madroño Tree. It symbolizes the resiliency and strength of the industry of Madrileños.
Gran Vía
This is a popular tourist street filled with entertainment, shops, and restaurants! A must-visit if you want to do some shopping. You will find a 5-story Primark, Zara, H&M, Pull & Bear, and many other stores! You can tell your husbands the bride suggested it so you HAVE to go. The groom endorses this message (except he doesn't know I wrote this).
Museo del Prado
